KOME manufactures timber trailers built for Nordic conditions, with structures that account for the demands of snow, frost, long driving distances and high utilization rates.
The strengths of our timber trailers are a flexible and durable bolted frame structure, high-quality finishing and light weight. Snow accumulating on the timber trailer’s structures is one of the challenges winter conditions bring, so in product development we continuously work to find structural solutions that reduce snow buildup on the frame, such as round cross members.
We want to stay close to our customers and listen to their needs. The innovative and smart solutions developed by Kome Oy have become standard practice in our industry, across almost all the product categories we represent.
The Briab timber trailer is available with two frame variants:
Briab Premium straight top rail has long been known as a durable timber carriage with good towing characteristics. The cross member is bolted, and a rubber spacer absorbs the torsional forces on the cross member, keeping the frame stress-free at its joints and giving it a long service life.
Briab Premium V top rail is the latest flagship product of our development work, featuring an inverted V-shaped top rail on the frame. This design eliminates sideways play in the sliding rear bunk. This removes the rear bunk’s pendulum motion on forest roads and gives even better driving stability than the already good straight top rail Briab Premium model. In addition, the bunk frame partly acts as a cross member, reducing the number of cross members needed and adding a touch more light weight. The ridge-free top rail also keeps snow and sand from collecting on top of it, which improves wear resistance for the sliding pads. With no sideways movement in the rear bunk’s bolsters, the durability of the transfer rods and transfer cylinder also improves.
The Briab trailer combines seven qualities that matter for a timber carriage:
- Open frame structure → less snow in the structures → more payload
- Overall cost-effectiveness
- Life-cycle thinking
- Customer focus
- Usability
- Strength and quality properties
- Finely finished and carefully designed structure
